Until I put my hand on the “greasy” spot

Kinja'd!!!

You’d think the body shop would wash the gizzard juice off of it but NOOOOOO.

I remembered them saying they needed a REAR bumper for a deer strike after I touched it.... the deer spun around and clipped the rear quarter, ripping the bumper off.

Chrysler charges a $100 core so they had to bring the old one back to me.

Unwashed.

And greasy.

Eww.

That reminds me that I need to clean the possum guts off of my bumper and get the fur out of my power steering fan. Took one out with my bumper and oil pan yesterday. The Mini is too low and needs some under carriage protection before I hit something that isn’t as squishy as a possum.

My godmother has had deer damage her car twice. The first one t-boned the passenger door and the second one decided that the Infinity badge looked comfy.

It is beyond remarkable how much shit is inside a deer when you hit it at highway speed.

I was probably doing 20 or less when I hit it, but I sure knocked the shit of it.

Had a rental company bring me a PT Cruiser that had run over an already dead deer laying in the road. Front cover was cracked, and they complained of a smell...

60% of the deer was wound around axle shafts and the exhaust piping, essentially cooking up jerky every time the car got to operating temp.

My favorite was a customer whos insurance company had questioned him on a deer hit years ago (insinuated he’d hit something other than a deer, making it collision as opposed to comprehensive). He came in to the shop one morning with his Dakota, punched in the left front corner, covered in fur, blood and shit. He then proceeded to advise me that he wanted to make sure the insurance company didn’t jerk him around about it not being a deer hit, so he cut the deers head off on the side of the road and put it in a cooler in the bed. I usually have to send multiple photos of the vehicle to the insurance company with an estimate. Only once in 16 years have I sent a picture of the vehicle owner, grinning ear to ear, holding a severed deer head by the ears dripping blood, with the damaged truck as a background.

Mighta been. Didn’t test it. Guy in the Lexus I witnessed hitting a deer last weekend had it on his windshield, right at eye height.

Found the leg of a deer stuck under a first gen Previa I was to do an oil change on. Didn’t do the oil change.

Yeah, they’re trying to keep them out of the “refurbished” market.

I’ve had REAL venison, shot by my cousin and processed locally. Good stuff. Tangy.
